We believe in creating visual archives of a planet which is changing so fast.
We believe in photographing the human history in an accelerated globalizing process, the environmental changes, the extinction of the species, the disappearance of tribes ,cultural values and traditional ways of living.
We believe in portraying the forgotten, in portraying the vanishing world.

Little by little, the history of the human being reveals itself as a camouflaged history of despotic power. On a daily basis, thousands of people lose their homes to turn up living in the streets, and from then on, the rest of the society considers them as "forgotten". Much rather than believing that their fate was a result of a basic violation of their human rights, the bystanders blame it on them, because that is a much easier explanation than to cope with the thought that one day they might as well end up like these unfortunate souls and it also relieves them from the psychological sense that it is their duty to help the needy.
All over the world, technology is taking over. The human beings had developed techniques of survival over thousands of years, techniques built within the environment and therefore sustainable. In a world in which the word "profit" seems to be the standard human term of qualifying something as successful, there is no more room for the traditional ways of life. The environment is slowly vanishing and turning itself into digits in the bank account numbers of the powerful. Here we portrait those vanishing fishermen of South East Asia.
In some places of the planet, the throwing of acid is understood as an act of vengeance which also becomes an act of possession, which means that the perpetrator is able to bring pain, shame and isolation to the victim, and in the last instance it means that already disfigured, the victim will not be able to to relate to others because in firs instance the perpetrator thought of him/her as his/her belonging.
Depending on the quantity of acid thrown and the type of acid and the time it stays on the victim, severe disfiguring can occur and it can also lead to death in the long or in the short run.
The scarring of the victim due to the acid burn is a life time process, and as well can be the psychological trauma (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which can slowly fade away depending on the resilience of the patient, but in many cases it can lead to severe psychological disorders.
